Join us as we celebrate Ms. Suzan Serigny, who is retiring after 31 years as an educator. Ms. Serigny joined Grace King in 2010 as the Assistant Principal of Special Education and in recent years oversaw the Office of Operations. Filled with school spirit, she established the Shamrock Shop, Grace King’s one-stop-shop for many things Grace King. Many in the KINGdom have sported her hand knitted signature green and gold caps, scarves or cloches, and every new faculty baby was blessed with a beautiful baby’s blanket for snuggling.
The students in Grace King’s special education had a fierce advocate in Ms. Serigny, who worked to ensure that they always felt a vital part of the Grace King community. Ever the songstress, we find these words from “What I did for Love” a fitting tribute to Ms. Serigny.
Kiss today goodbye
the sweetness and the sorrow
Wish me luck the same to you
We won’t forget, what she did for love.
That strong Cajun accented voice will be missed in the Fighting Irish community. May the road always rise up to meet you Ms. Serigny!
