Several of our students who have participated in programs with Puentes New Orleans had the opportunity to participate in the new Puentes New Orleans storytelling and digital film making program, and this work was recently featured in the New Orleans’ Times Picayune.
All of them have bravely shared their personal stories of struggle and resilience in the hopes that they can help other students experiencing the same challenges. They have been working very hard to transform their stories into digital films. Two of the students have completed their films already, and the others are in the production process. One of the films is available to be viewed online here.
The participants pictured are: Dariel Duarte, Josselyn Godoy, Angie Turcio Pineda, Eli Cespedes, Rebeca Santa Maria de Granados and Victoria Lopez. Not pictured is Dariana Laboriel who also participated in this project.
The films are short (under 5 minutes), and the program administrators expect to have between 4 and 6 films completed before the end of the semester.
