Grace King sent 10 students to Crimestoppers Second Annual Teen Peace Conference. Held on Saturday, April 1, Crimestoppers hosted thirty schools at the University of New Orleans Human Performance Center. Conference participants met exclusively with agents from the Federal Bureau of Intelligence, the Drug Enforcement Agency. local magistrates, officials from the Attorney General’s office as well as New Orleans Superintendent Michael S. Harris to highlight gun violence, hate crimes, cultural barriers and teen resources.
Touted as “a summit where teens talk and criminal justice leaders listen”, participants
- talked face to face with community leaders on violent crime and safety
- networked with teens and other schools
- discussed ways to diffuse conflict and promote unity
Our participants will serve as ambassadors of peace and help train others on campus.
