Saturday, September 26 found Albert Bustillo and Patherson Rodas a bit nervous, but ready to offer some musical magic as they nailed their respective auditions of the first round of auditions for the Louisiana All-State Bands. Both Albert, who plays tuba, and Patherson, who plays the clarinet, ranked second in the audition process with their respective instruments. They will now begin practicing so that they are ready for the second round auditions in Lafayette in two weeks.
Mr. Totora, Grace King Music Director, states, “The boys have many hours of practicing to do, so they will be able to score better than the other top musician in the state. But when they pass these auditions, they will participate in the All-State Band at the annual Louisiana Music Educators Association (LMEA) Convention.”
The LMEA will be held in November in Baton Rouge of this academic year. Bravo Patherson and Albert!
