Who Dat Is is a bi-weekly feature that seeks to highlight individuals from around campus who are hardworking, talented and dedicated to what they do. This week we have chosen the newest addition to our family, Ms. Kersy Chicas, who deals with attendance (and a lot of other tasks) in the front office. Although Ms. Chicas has only worked here for a short amount of time, she has an immense workload, but you won’t see her complain as she loves a challenge.
Ms. Chicas originally hails from Honduras, but she moved to the Louisiana and studied at John Ehret High School in Marrero. She continued her studies at Lone Star Community College in The WoodLands, Texas.
Overall, there were two things that attracted her to work here in the Kingdom; namely a familial connection and proximity. Ms. Chicas’ son attends Grace King, and the school is near to her home. Ms. Chicas is delighted to become a member of such a wonderful school.
During her free time, Ms. Chicas, enjoys going for a run through our beautiful city. She also enjoys reading brain-stimulating books and taking power naps to make sure she is ready for the day ahead of her.
All in all, Ms. Chicas is a true asset to our school community with her positivity and hard work. Here at Grace King, we welcome her into our family and hope she continues bringing joy to our school.
